Matthew Burrows is a songwriter, music producer & multi-instrumentalist.

His aim is simple: timeless songs.

A gifted melody writer & lyricist; Matt holds a firm belief that songs are the heartbeat of the music industry; responsible for influencing both thoughts and emotions. Whilst music may be the vehicle for emotion, the destination should always be the message of a song. All songwriters have a responsibility to understand the power a song can have in influencing someone else’s story.

Music has been part of Matt’s story from the very beginning. Growing up in a musical family, Matt started playing the Saxophone as a young child. When he was twelve years old he walked into a music shop and picked up a guitar for the first time whilst out with his dad. That day Matt left with more than just a guitar in his hand, but with a dream he would end up chasing as a young man. Matt has barely put down a guitar since.

In his early teenage years he would spend hours watching his favourite artists, playing their songs by ear, perfecting his technique, and composing his own music. It wasn’t until Matt was 14 that he wrote his first song. From then on his love of playing was overtaken by a desire to write.

After graduating University with a degree in Music Technology, Matt worked as a composer, sound-designer and editor for a Dolby approved post-production house: Spool; acquiring credits on a host of feature films, television shows and radio adverts. He later became a production manager at a large Church, overseeing all production aspects of their weekly services and project managing a touring style install into ITV’s old studio complex, Carlton TV Studios. He worked closely with industry leading production companies such as Wigwam Acoustics and Lite Alternative to purchase, implement and maintain equipment from L-Acoustics, DiGiCo, Martin, MA Lighting, Blackmagic Design and Clay Paky.

Matt now lives in London with his wife Ali. When he’s not writing songs you can usually find him drinking coffee, riding his bike or pretending to be a professional chef.
